Overview

Assemble is a creative digital strategy agency that works with political organizations, issue campaigns, causes, and brands. We are seeking a Graphic Design Intern to join our creative team for the spring of 2024. As a graphic design intern, you’ll learn about designing for political campaigns and other mission-driven clients. The ideal candidate has a passion for Democratic and progressive politics and experience with graphic design, particularly for digital environments.

Our spring 2024 internships will run from approximately January 29–April 19, with some flexibility around those dates. This position may be part- or full-time, from 10 to 30 hours per week, and is paid at $20 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Work with designers, video editors, and creative strategists to develop and execute creative ideas for political campaigns and causes
  • Create graphics and/or videos for digital advertising, emails, and social media
  • Adhere to brand guidelines
  • Complete projects according to deadline
  • Use Adobe Creative Suite software and work with a wide variety of media
  • Receive feedback from the creative team and make necessary changes
  • Support and collaborate with strategists, copywriters, media planners, and client leads in addition to the creative team

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of layouts, typography, composition, color, and other graphic design fundamentals
  • Strong skills within the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Organization and attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Democratic politics and progressive issues
  • Video editing or web design skills are a plus, but not required
