Overview

Assemble is a creative digital and communications strategy agency that works with political organizations, issue campaigns, causes, businesses, and brands. We are seeking a Sr. Manager, Ad Tech & Data to join our team to help drive data automation, tracking, and platform integrations for our advertising and analytics efforts.

About You

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of digital advertising data flows, automation, tracking implementation, and reporting systems. This person will work closely with our media, data, and strategy teams to streamline reporting, enhance data collection, and optimize tracking setups to improve ad performance.

Though this position is fully remote, Washington, D.C.-based candidates may be able to work out of our D.C. office part-time.

Responsibilities

Data Automation & Reporting

  • Build and maintain reporting dashboards using Looker Studio (formerly Data Studio)
  • Integrate Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and other APIs for data automation
  • Work with data connectors such as Frakture, Supermetrics, and others to streamline data collection
  • Implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to clean and structure raw ad data
  • Write SQL queries for data analysis in platforms like BigQuery or Looker

First-Party & Third-Party Data Management

  • Support first-party data collection, segmentation, and activation
  • Work with CRM platforms (NGP, EveryAction, Constant Contact, Salesforce, etc.)
  • Leverage Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) like Segment, BlueConic
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
  • Manage and track third-party data vendor costs

Tracking & Conversion Optimization

  • Implement and troubleshoot Facebook Pixel, Google Ads Conversion Tracking, TikTok Pixel, and other tracking tools
  • Set up and maintain Conversion APIs (CAPI) for Facebook, Google Enhanced Conversions, etc.
  • Manage UTM tracking and attribution modeling
  • Deploy and optimize Google Tag Manager, Tealium, and other Tag Management Systems

Platform Knowledge & Automation

  • Develop workflow automations using Zapier and similar tools
  • Sync data between digital ad platforms (Google Ads, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Ads, etc.) and CRM/reporting tools
  • Work with marketing automation tools (ActiveCampaign, Marketo, etc.)
  • Build and manage cross-platform integrations to improve reporting efficiency

Basic Coding & Web Development

  • Use JavaScript and HTML for pixel and script implementation
  • Write Python scripts for automation and data processing
  • Debug and analyze data tracking issues using Google Chrome DevTools, Facebook Pixel Helper, and other tools
  • Work with REST APIs to send and retrieve data

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with server-side tracking
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud, Firebase)
  • Understanding of attribution modeling & Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM)

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in digital advertising technology, marketing analytics, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of ad platform integrations, data automation, and tracking systems
  • Experience with SQL, Python, JavaScript, and web tracking technologies
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex data and tracking challenges
  • A strong understanding of data privacy and compliance regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset

Compensation

Salary Range: $65,000–$84,000, depending on experience, plus a discretionary annual bonus based on company performance.
